I hope the blog posts we have provided since April have provided lots of useful information as you continue your wedding journey! This next set of series will have a little twist to them. We have partnered with a few friendors (Friend Vendors) and asked them about their contribution to a couple’s wedding journey experience and the importance of each part of their contribution. Each person we have spoken with provides details from their perspective and some thoughtful questions that couples can ask themselves when deciding on this particular vendor. We spoke with Nicole from FINGERS IN INK  all things Wedding Invitations and Stationery. Significance of stationery for your Wedding

Invitations and stationery for your wedding day, brings added value to your special moment in time. They enhance the overall feel and view of your wedding day. Your stationery suite can provide a visual of your theme-from the print and assembly  to the delivery and presentation! 

Specifically for wedding  invitations or even save the dates, this is the first time your guests get a sneak peek of what to expect on your wedding day as well as setting the tone moving forward. Guests can get a sense of your personality as a couple, as well as the level of detail you two are considering.

So what goes into a formal invitation suite?

According to Nicole, here are the must haves for your invitation suite:

• Invitation
  • Should include date, time, location, attire requirements
• RSVP
  • Accept or Decline Option 
  • Food Options
    • Be VERY SPECIFIC especially considering your guests food allergies. You cannot just say Chicken because if the Chicken is cooked with something that your guest is allergic to, you might be in trouble day of!
• Additional Information Card
  • Type of Reception to follow 
    • This could mention Adult Reception only or Cake and Champagne  Reception, etc. (This allows your guest to prepare appropriately.)
  • Website information
  • Fun facts about you two!

So what goes into the rest of your Wedding Stationery?

Day of stationery can include:

• Wedding Programs 
• Menus
• Escort/Place Cards 
• Table Numbers 
• Signage throughout the wedding venue(s)

According to Nicole,  event stationery must haves:

• A really solid and cohesive branded stationery suite
  • This means if you have a font on your invitation suite then ALL stationery aligned with your wedding should have the same font.
  • If you have a family crest or a specific design, this should flow throughout your event stationery for the day

On a psychological note, the cohesiveness can trigger the thoughts, feeling or emotion your guests had the moment they saw the invitation in the mail bringing the experience full circle!

• Invest in Guest Addressing
  • This investment can range from computer calligraphy addressing or even hand lettering and/or calligraphy. 

All of these details will enhance not only your wedding experience BUT your guests’ experience as well!
